There's nothing quite like a weekend in Sonoma, finding an escape from the city and taking in the beautiful California Wine Country. It’s no surprise this area makes for a dream destination to say “I do”. Working as Northern California wedding planners, our team jumped at the opportunity to work with Kristen and Farshad when they said they were getting married at Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma. The blooming gardens and clear blue skies set a dreamy backdrop for their big day. One of the best parts about booking a garden venue is the “free” florals, and while our allergies were going crazy–it was so worth it! Not only did the oso team get to spend the day at a beautiful venue, but we got to watch a beautiful couple celebrate with laughter, dancing, and a whole lot of love.
Kristen and Farshad had a clear vision for a romantic and rustic wedding. Selecting the venue that aligns with your vision makes it so easy to achieve the look you’re going for, and this couple picked the perfect venue that made executing the look and feel of their wedding a breeze. The Garden Barn at Cornerstone Gardens really channels the rustic vibes; so between the barn, rentals from Chairs4Events, and stunning florals from Flowers Valley our team had everything we needed. The tablescape might have been one of my favorite elements of the decor. I especially loved the wicker chargers (adding texture is a great way to add dimension to a tablescape!) with the sage green napkins. They paired so well with the garden-inspired centerpieces, elements of soft hues and sprawling flowers and greenery made for the perfect addition to guests’ tables. Not to mention the way the light would enter the Garden Tent throughout the day only added to the romance.

It’s no surprise that as wedding planners we love the little details, but it really is the little details that make a wedding special! And all the details came together perfectly for Kristen and Farshad. I’m a sucker for guest favors (I just love little trinkets, add the couples’ initials to it and I’m hooked). They opted for a classic matchbox favor, with favors keeping it simple is a great way to ensure your guests actually take it home. If I can give a self-shoutout to oso designs by oso, as the custom signage for this wedding was some of my favorite. The bar menu and seating chart only added to the garden vibes of the day. And perhaps the sweetest detail of the day: the cake from SWEET Sonoma. It wasn't just a cake; it was an experience. A beautiful three tiered almond cake with apricot preserves and almond buttercream. Our team was inspired (by inspired I of course mean trying to figure out how we could try to recreate it at home🤭). The cake was really important to the Bride and her mom; between Jill’s craftsmanship of the cake and cake florals from Flowers Valley, everyone was so happy with how it turned out.
As the night went on, Kristen, Farshad, and their guests tore up the dance floor. Underneath the twinkling market lights inside the Garden Barn, the dance floor was full the entire night. Seeing the couple and their friends and family dance the night away is always one of the best parts of the night (made a little better when the couple are fellow Swifties, and keep Taylor on all night). As great as it is to see all the wedding guests with the couple, one of the sweetest moments was the couple's private last dance. After a lot of commotion on the dance floor Kristen and Farshad took a few moments to be alone, soaking in the magic of their wedding day. We always encourage couples to find these intimate moments amidst the busyness of the day. Between photos and chatting with guests, moments for just the couple can be rare. Our couples are always so grateful when they’ve carved out some time for just the two of them, and creating those moments is what our team is all about.
We were so lucky to be part of Kristen and Farshad’s wedding. Couple’s like them are a dream to work with, and make the planning process and day-of a blast. We’ll be looking back on that day–and cake (I meant it when I said I’m obsessed)–so fondly. If you’re ready to start planning your dream wedding, check us out at oso.events/contact.
